The vision for Creative Mindset started 10 years ago, Sharon was supporting a young person and it was becoming increasingly obvious that the current Curriculum was not working. This young person was extremely anxious and displaying worryingly dangerous behaviours on a daily basis and was at risk of permanent exclusion. More than just the conventional curriculum was needed. Sharon approached her dynamic and forward thinking Head Teacher at the time and told her that a different approach was needed for this young person. Together they thought about how to address this, they searched high and low for answer but there was nothing out there. All conventional avenues had been explored and exhausted. Finally they stumbled upon the NHS’s Five steps to mental Well-Being. Sharon used these Steps to support and guide her with creating a bespoke and highly personalised person centred timetable to ensure all areas of the young persons SEMH were being addressed and supported Thus re-engaging the young person and their love for learning. Bringing about an innovative, highly personal, bespoke approach to learning which has been trailed on several young people with great success keeping the most hard to reach young people in school and engaging in active leaning. This approach is now known as the Well- Being curriculum.
For 9 years sharon has wanted to set up her own business and roll out this curriculum to push forward a very much needed change of mindset in the current educational system. She was not quite brave enough to do it alone so waited and waited for the right person to come along and finally along came Dani.
And so Creative Mindset as we know it today was born @ 17:00pm on Monday 28th February.
