During our Woodland Well-being sessions, we use a woodland space to its full therapeutic advantage. Using practical forest based activities such as building, cooking, art and music. We will provide young people with opportunities to succeed, work with others, build their self-esteem and communication skills.
we will apply the 5 pillars of well-being:
- Connect
- Be active
- Take notice
- keep learning
- Giving back
And the 5 pillars of Nature connectedness:
- Contact
- Beauty
- Meaning
- Emotion
- Compassion
Our education pedagogy places intrinsic value and importance upon the benefits of the natural environment and the interconnectedness between health, well-being and being outside. We promote the importance of emotional safety, sensory integration, and social inclusion all attendees. We achieve this through the value that we placed upon our attachment to nature, fostering connectedness to peers and trusted adults. We aim to redefine learning and take a trauma informed approach to support young people back to achieving.
Alongside this each young person would have time 1:1 behaviour and well-being support. This would include mental health support, behaviour support, relationship building, skills for work, confidence building, attitude to learning, play skills, social emotional needs, identity and self-esteem, regulation skills, mindfulness, and transition support.
